JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports company operations by maintaining division office systems and supervising staff.
  • Reviews ongoing performance results to targets. Takes corrective measures with authorization
  • Responsible for meeting monthly and quarterly sales goals
  • Responsible for potential sales of commercial, residential, agricultural, and other industry businesses.  
  • Keeps Bulk Fuel/Propane General Manager promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and suggests alternative courses or takes prompt corrective action where necessary.
  • Recruits and maintains a qualified staff and recommends staff adjustments, transfers, promotions, and dismissals.
  • Managers are expected to deliver products and assist drivers as needed.
  • Service work – manager coordinates service work and products needed.
  • Participates in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual planning processes as appropriate.
  • Performs all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned.
  • Organizes office operations and procedures, controlling customer correspondence and reviewing and approving requisitions.
  • Maintains office efficiency by planning and implementing office systems, layouts, and equipment procurement.
  • Implements office policies by establishing standards and procedures, measuring results against standards, and making necessary adjustments.
  • On-call – Work with staff to have an employee cover the after-hours emergency need for customers. On-call staff is expected to take these calls and assist after-hours as needed.
  • Time management – a typical day for the manager will consist of a few hours in the office in the morning.  Once operations are coordinated with drivers and service techs, review any needs with office staff.   Manager’s duties will then focus on delivering products, service work, and sales.
  • Completes and follows up on operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Superior customer service skills
  • Ability to relate to the established customer base / prospective customers
  • Effective communication skills and ability to inform
  • Supply management and inventory control
  • Proven supervision, staffing, and delegation experience
  • Managing processes

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in statistics, operations, or business
  • 3+ years of management experience in an office setting
  • Experience supervising, leading, and developing staff
  • Proficient with computers and ability to adapt to various office software
  • Have Commercial Driver's license (CDL)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
  • Employee is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, and walk
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of area travel may be expected.
