ALL LOCATIONS: Alexandria, Redwood Falls, Mankato & Willmar, MN
STARTING WAGE RANGE: $65,780.00 - $80,080.00 Annually (depending upon experience)
OPENING DATE: Open until filled
JOB TYPE: Full Time (typically 50 hours per week, overtime is regularly available)
SCHEDULE: Shifts begin between 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM, typically Monday through Friday
Shift start & length may vary by route & location, 4 and 5 day shifts available

Drivers in this position may operate heavy-duty trucks with front or rear end load lift attachment. Using specialized equipment on their truck, they pick-up and service residential or commercial containers filled with waste, recyclable material, or yard waste. Containers may weigh in excess of 1,000 pounds and, at times, may require maneuvering of wheeled containers to a pick-up stage area. They then transport the material to a disposal, transfer or recycle facility when the truck has reached the legal load capacity. Safe driving is crucial when traveling and maneuvering the truck in high traffic / congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots around other vehicles and under highlines. A high level of skill especially regarding backing maneuvers is essential to being successful as a commercial driver.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Must successfully complete and pass applicable pre-employment background check, driving record, physical and drug screening.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements and demands of the position.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years or more of relevant work experience in transportation, driving or logistics is preferred, but not required.
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered adequate.
- Ability to operate large, heavy-duty vehicles.
- Current Minnesota Class D Driver’s License is required.
- Commercial Driver’s License is preferred, but not immediately required.
- Ability to provide or acquire a current Class A or Class B Minnesota Commercial Driver’s License / Permit, including air-brakes, without restrictions (WCS will provide the means to become licensed to qualified candidates).
- Ability to provide or obtain a current Health Card (MEC).
