Purchasing Agent

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to help manage inventory, maintain vendor relationships, and support smooth production through accurate work order creation at our location in Willmar, Minnesota. If you enjoy problem-solving, negotiating, and keeping operations running efficiently, this role is for you!
What You’ll Do
- Negotiate vendor pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare purchase orders and forecast procurement needs.
- Maintain and adjust inventory levels, track product performance, and reduce costs.
- Evaluate suppliers and resolve issues with defective or incorrect goods.
- Coordinate import shipments, freight options, customs documents, and warehouse transfers.
- Create and manage work orders, ensuring accurate BOMs and timely completion.
- Work closely with manufacturing, operations, and warehouse teams to support production flow.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records.
- Strong negotiation and vendor relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, purchasing processes, and inventory control.
- Problem-solving ability with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organization skills; able to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
