Program Coordinator

Organization Mission: AIM provides opportunities and resources to support inclusion and independence for people with disabilities. 

 

PURPOSE: Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator would assist in organizing the social inclusion programs (dances, conference, picnics, festivals, etc.). The Program Coordinator would also act as the People First Advisor, and provide any one-to-one advocacy services. This position would also be part of succession planning to make any unexpected transition go more smoothly, as the Program Coordinator could run daily operations in the absence of the Executive Director.

 

DUTIES: 

  • Coordinate volunteers for each program, class, event/outing and be the main point of contact. 

 
  • Coordination of each program, class, event/outing would include: securing the venue, ordering or purchasing food, designing registration forms, promoting the event to a database list, data entry, coordinating volunteers, and other duties as assigned. 

 
  • The Program Coordinator will also act as the People First Advisor.  Assisting with People First Officers’ meetings, monthly meetings, coordinating fundraisers, and track attendance. Support the People First Officers in how to plan meetings, fundraisers and maintain that everything will work for all disabilities. Would also provide resources to individuals for advocacy services as needed.

 
  • Maintain website updates, create the quarterly newsletter with the Executive Director, and keep a database up to date (LGL and Mailchimp).

 
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and/or the Board of Directors.

 

EXPERIENCE: An associate’s degree in a related field with at least one year of program

coordination experience, or four years of experience in program management/coordination.

Experience working with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities required. Must

have basic computer knowledge and Microsoft Office programs. This position requires excellent

communication and organization skills.

 

HOURS & PAY: This is a part-time position, starting at approximately 15- 20 hours per week. Pay depending on qualifications. Range $18.00 to $20.00
