Police Chief - City of Minneota
The City of Minneota is accepting applications for the position of Police Chief.
The Police Chief will serve to provide technical and administrative work in the direction and operation of the police department. To preserve law and order, to protect life and property and to enforce laws and ordinances in a manner which will always command public respect and confidence.
Work involves the responsibility for coordination and control of all police activities. The police chief plans department activities, assists in the selection, training, assignment, supervision and discipline of all department personnel. Position is responsible for preventing crimes, protecting lives and public safety. Work is performed with independent judgment and discretion in the day-to-day operation of the police department. Decisions are made within law, established precedent and routine. Work is performed under the general supervision of the City Administrator and is reviewed through observation, discussion, results obtained and completed work
A combination of training and experience substantially equivalent to a college degree in law enforcement and extensive experience in the operation of a police department including supervision is required. Key qualities include ability to plan, direct and supervise subordinates, thorough knowledge of principles, practices and procedures as applied to patrol, traffic control, criminal investigation, crime prevention and juvenile delinquency.
Position is Salary-Exempt $80-105K with full benefits and a $10,000 signing bonus.
