Position Description
Provide accounting services requiring technical and analytical skills to ensure that purchasing, payroll and employee expense reimbursement transactions are processed and coded accurately and in accordance with all regulations. They will also be the backup to provide communication service and device administration (wireless and networked).

This position must interpret rules and regulations relating to statewide accounting, and must understand bargaining unit contracts, labor relations laws, the State’s accounting system, coding structure, Data Warehouse, and the districts’ budget and various appropriations.
They will also contribute to budget projections by analyzing payable and open purchase order reports and calculating encumbrances through the remainder of the fiscal year.
After the training period this position has the option to telework part-time. A telework agreement is required.

Minimum Qualifications

To qualify for Account Clerk Senior, applicant resumes must demonstrate all of the following:

  • Accounting and/or budget skills sufficient to reconcile differences between invoices, receipts and purchase orders as well as estimating needs based on historical data and events affecting the account.
  • Accounting skills sufficient to calculate payroll and maintain complete and accurate payroll records.
  • Math skills sufficient to compute totals, averages, and percentages of numerical data and to check or reconcile data.
  • Data entry skills sufficient to enter text and numbers into spreadsheets, and computer systems and applications.
  • Spreadsheet skills sufficient to update and maintain fiscal records.
  • Knowledge of English sufficient to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
