Minnesota Specialty Health System (MSHS) is seeking a talented, mission driven, person-centered Occupational Therapist to provide occupational therapy service delivery for patients treated in these facilities. Willmar provides rehabilitation and supportive residential services for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness. Our goal is to improve psychiatric stability, personal and emotional adjustment, self-sufficiency, and independent living skills.
Responsibilities may include:
- Evaluate the functional abilities and occupational participation of patients using a variety of standardized and non-standardized tests.
- Plans and implements occupational therapy interventions based on the assessment, evaluation, client goals, current best practice, and clinical reasoning.
- Documentation of all occupational therapy services provided is completed per policy & procedure.
- Provide clinical supervision to occupational therapy assistants and/or level I and II fieldwork students.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify, applicants must be licensed to practice occupational therapy in the state of Minnesota; OR be currently licensed to practice occupational therapy in another state and must obtain licensure in Minnesota prior to appointment.In addition, applicants must meet the requirements for a Mental Health Practitioner as defined in MN Statute 245I.04, subdivision 4 and must satisfy one of the following combinations of education and experience: and must satisfy one of the following combinations of education and experience:
Occupational Therapist:
- Have bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program;
- Have a Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program; AND
- At least 18 months of professional, post-licensure occupational therapy experience
- Have Master's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program;
- At least 6 months of professional, post-licensure occupational therapy experience
