Loan Services/RE Loan Processor

Primary Job Purpose:  To provide the lending staff with necessary “backroom” support by processing new loans and servicing exiting loans (pre- and post-closing).
Input/Output: 

  • FNMA Servicing: have a full understanding of servicing Fannie Mae loans.
  • Real estate loan servicing 
  • Real Estate Loan Processing – inhouse and secondary market 
  • Consumer Loan Processing
  • Assisting customers by phone/in person, as promptly and courteously as the situation permits
  • Assist with daily filing of documentation that flows into loan services department as necessary
  • Complete special projects and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by Loan Services Manager
  • You will be expected to have a good knowledge of bank procedures & regulations, with special emphasis on BSA/AML regulations. 
  • Physical Working Conditions:
    Inside working environment, low noise level.
    Monday–Friday; 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., additional hours may be required based on workload and agreement between employee and Supervisor.
     Attendance at various training sessions, both local and requiring extended driving may be required. 
     Attendance at various community functions, some outside of normal work hours may be required. 
     Physical Demands:
    Primarily requires sitting at desk, high degree of finger dexterity.  Terminal/PC work requires good eyesight/ability to focus quickly. 
     Mental Demands/Skill Requirements:
    Position requires the selected individual to be detail oriented and work with little supervision.  Position requires working on multiple tasks which can increase stress levels. Computer proficiency and a high degree of mathematical aptitude are required. 
    Professionalism:
    Provide a professional experience for internal and external customers.  Demonstrate professional knowledge, service, appearance, and communication.  Uphold confidentiality for customer’s records at all times. 
     Position Requirements:
    Education:   Minimum 2-year accounting or 4-year business (or related) education.  Previous banking (in the loan or operations area) or accounting experience could compensate for education requirements).
  • Ability to research and comprehend laws and regulations. 
  • Must be comfortable giving presentations and facilitating discussion groups.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Knowledge of banking and the various elements of bank operations and services
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Time management ability and ability to exercise good judgment and common sense.
  • Organizational skills and good communication skills, including written and verbal; ability to communicate and work well with bank employees and customers.
  • Ability and willingness to research and resolve questions by employees and customers.
  • Should have access to tools, materials, and training necessary to fulfill the job requirements on an on-going basis.
  • Willingness to pursue on-going education and training to enhance the Real Estate Loan department.
  • Must be able to travel between branches.
Skills:  Reading, writing, calculating, detail and reasoning abilities; excellent social interaction skills; ensure confidentiality security, and safekeeping of all information; computer keyboard proficiency; advanced computer word-processing; experienced internet user; advanced accounting skills; ten-key calculator skills; working knowledge of office equipment, including phones, copier, etc.; excellent listening skills. Person should have the ability to work independently with little supervision.

Salary range: $19.00-$22.00 hour, depending on experience
