Employment Plus is assisting a local employer in search of a Full-Time Controller.


Key Areas of Accountability:
  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop and enforce strong internal financial controls; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Financial Reporting & Audits: Oversee internal and external financial audits; maintain accurate financial records and reporting systems.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead annual budget development; manage forecasting processes, rolling forecasts, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, investment returns, and bank balances while minimizing financial risk.
  • Policy & Procedure Development: Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures to support sound decision-making.
  • Staff Supervision: Manage financial team performance, hiring, training, and development to meet departmental goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maximize return on financial assets through effective financial oversight and planning
  • Guide financial decisions by creating and enforcing financial policies
  • Monitor financial condition through regular audits and financial data analysis
  • Prepare and present regular and special financial reports and recommendations
  • Interpret financial trends to support strategic planning
  • Ensure legal and tax compliance by staying up to date on legislation and filing requirements
  • Evaluate accounting systems and software for continuous improvement
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information
  • Support company operations by managing financial staff and coordinating cross-functional efforts

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and team leadership experience
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • Deep understanding of GAAP and financial regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Business Central and advanced FP&A platforms
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in time management
