What You’ll Do:
As a Surveying Technician, you’ll assist and occasionally lead a field crew using advanced GPS and total station equipment to collect vital data for construction, land, and location surveys. From pounding stakes and setting hubs to recovering monuments and verifying accuracy. You’ll also play a key support role in the winter months, keeping Minnesota’s roads safe through snow and ice control operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate RTK GPS or total stations to collect survey data
- Assist in reviewing and transferring electronic data and plans
- Maintain and calibrate survey equipment and coordinate vehicle upkeep
- Establish and mark right-of-way boundaries and control points
- Investigate and locate monuments, lot corners, and section corners
- Act as the crew lead when needed to keep projects on track
- Support Snow & Ice operations in the winter months
- Work outdoors in a dynamic, hands-on role
- Use high-tech equipment and build specialized skills
