Position: Nursing Instructor
Associate Degree & Practical Nursing Programs
Employment Condition: Full-time, Unlimited –The teaching load for these nursing positions will average 15 credits per semester. Start Fall Semester August 2017.
Salary Range: Based on education and experience / per Faculty Contract

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Teach classroom and clinical experiences in an Associate of Science Nursing Degree Nursing program and Practical Nursing program, both nationally accredited programs by the Accrediting Commission of Educational and Nursing (ACEN).  Our Associate Nursing Program is part of a baccalaureate nursing curriculum offered in collaboration with MANE programs (Minnesota Alliance in Nursing Education)
    Committed to providing quality instruction and services to students of all ages and backgrounds.
    The instructor is responsible to assign, supervise, and evaluate students in a variety of clinical settings (may be at non-traditional times and days.) in laboratory and simulated experiences, as well as lecture.
    Demonstrate knowledge of and experience in assessment of student learning outcomes.
    Participate in department meetings, coordination activities, curriculum development and college wide committees.
    Maintain ongoing professional memberships and continuing education activities.
    Some travel is necessary (approximately 30%).
    The applicant (the employee) should demonstrate a knowledge of and interest in diverse cultures and populations.

Minimum Qualifications:
    Education Requirement
Master's degree with a major in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing or a nursing clinical specialty.
    Occupational Experience Requirement
Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level.
    Recency Requirement
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
    Professional Requirement
Current Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Preferred Qualifications:

    Proof of current CPR certification for the professional rescuer.
    Teaching experience in nursing education.
    Professional certifications.
