Job Summary


To help create an environment conducive to learning by monitoring, adjusting, repairing and maintaining the mechanical systems including boiler operation, energy management systems, and physical operations of the buildings and grounds of the college. To open the college for business.




Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possess a good working knowledge of practices and licensure involved in maintaining, programming and repairing buildings and equipment necessary to the operation of the agency. This includes but is not limited to the following: low-pressure hot water boilers, HVAC equipment, refrigeration equipment, energy management equipment and accessories.
  • Must possess a Steam Engineers License (special engineers license).
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions and directives.
  • Observe all safety standards and rules.
  • Maintain good physical condition to the best of your ability.
  • Ability to lift and carry a maximum of 100 pounds.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing and electrical equipment and systems.
  • Maintain latest technology through workshops, seminars and classes.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints and spec books.
  • Current Minnesota Class D driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Thorough knowledge of building custodial practices and procedures and equipment, materials and supplies.
  • Possess forklift certification.
  • Experience with aerial lifts.
  • Ability to write reports.
  • Knowledge of building utilities maintenance and repair.

Physical Requirements

  • Physical demands sufficient to use hand tools and handle fairly light materials manually, to perform work functions using ladders and scaffolding and to function in adverse weather conditions.
  • Physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions (e.g. standing, stooping and pulling).
