Event Description
How internships can enhance your business and the top ten features of effective internship programs in small businesses.
 The University of Minnesota, through the new Mid-Central Research and Outreach Center (MCROC) being developed on the MinnWest Technology Campus, Willmar, and in cooperation with the Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a lunch-time seminar on student internships. This is your opportunity to learn how your company can best utilize undergraduate and graduate students to advance your goals. In this seminar you will learn what makes for an effective internship. You will also be given up-to-date information on the programs offered by the University of Minnesota in the new MCROC.
 Sara Nagle Newburg, University of Minnesota Director, St. Paul Campus Career Center, will be presenting a recent study that determined the top ten factors of an effective internship program in business. Tim Miller, MCROC Internship Coordinator, will provide information on the services provided by the University of Minnesota for internships. Mr. Miller will also provide up-to-date information on the progress of the MCROC.
 Internship 101 will be hosted in the MinnWest Technology Campus Commons Meeting Room (next to the cafeteria). Directions can be found at: www.mnwesttechnology.com/map.pdf.
 Cost of registration is $10 for Chamber members and $15 for Prospective members. Space is limited and restricted to the first 25 registrants.
